Parks

Parks are another thing that haven't really changed much through the Sim series. Okay so there's not that much to change, but you should be able place lots of them next to each other to form one big park. Very few parks are perfectly square, and lots of little parks next to each other looks rather odd.

One good suggestion I have had is to include things other than just grass, trees and playgrounds in parks, like in real life. Things like football pitches, tennis courts etc. would be quite a nice addition.

Stadiums

Firstly, stadiums should include a car park. When you've got tens of thousands of people coming to one building at the same time several times a month, making them park on the sides of the roads would be a bad idea. You should also be able to see the people in the audience when games are going on, and like in the original Sim City game - see the players running up and down the fields.

There should also be more types of stadium - athletic, football/soccer (depending which country your from), Rugby/American Football (depending which coutry you're in), Hockey, Baseball, Basketball...

Other buildings

Other recreational buildings that could be included:

  • Leisure centre (also increases city-wide health and life expectancy)
  • Dry ski slope
  • Ice rink
  • Lacrosse Field
  • Public swimming pools
  • Campsite
  • Race track
  • Golf courses (I know this is was available in SC3000, but only as a reward)
  • Skate park (keeps youth crime down)
  • Aquarium
  • Water parks
